Putting together far and away their best outing of the season SCHS Gamecock wrestlers of Caleb White soundly whipped both Metter and homestanding Southeast Bulloch in mat action last Wednesday afternoon. 
The team is in action this weekend in the Vidalia Sweet Onion Tournament after going to South Effingham this afternoon.
Taking the measure of Metter 46-12 and SEB 48-18 some members of the grappler squad equaled or bettered their win total for the season in one afternoon. 
Recording two wins were sophomore Travez Jones (125) with a 10-2 decision and a pin; sophomore Corey Waters (130) with a pair of pins; sophomore Joseph Gray (135) with a pair of pins; senior Terrell Roberts (145 and 152 ) with a pair of pins and senior John Boykin (161) with a pair of pins.
Gaining single victories were freshman Lemel Smith (140) with a pin; senior Justin Alderman (172), freshman Jared Thompson (145), junior Dondra Willams (189) and senior Justin Jackson (215).
With just one more week until the 3AA traditional tournament on February 5-6, the Gamecocks are led by John Boykin (6-7), Terrell Roberts (5-2), Joseph Gray (5-5), Corey Waters (4-2), Trevez Jones (4-6), and Dandra Williams (4-6).
