After completing a region runner-up regular season, the SCHS Lady Gamecock track team of John McAfee took a 10th statewide place at the state track meet in Albany last week.

Senior Symphony White led the team effort with a pair of record setting long jump and triple jump efforts, good enough for third and fourth place respectively.
With jumps of 17 foot 8.25 inches and 35 foot 7 inches White broke her own school records to net 11 points for the Red and White. Kayla Parrish was sixth in the 400 (59.160) and Casmeyona Austin was eighth (5:46.090) in the 1600. 
The Lady Gamecocks totaled 15 points to tie with McIntosh County Academy and Crawford County for the 10th spot. 

Region 3AA champion Bleckley County was third with 33.5 points. Greater Atlanta Christian received the state championship cup with 46 points.
