Norman Lee 'N.L.' Scott Jr.
Sylvania – Norman Lee “N.L.” Scott Jr., age 83, died on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at his residence in Screven County. He was born in Screven County, was retired from Local 709 Iron Workers where he was a superintendent, and a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church. He also was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and an avid fox hunter. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Norman Lee, Sr. and Mary Helen Smith Scott; Brothers: Jimmy Scott, Preston Scott and Gene Scott.
Survivors: Wife: Jewel Anna Hughes Scott of Sylvania; Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Laura S. and Wendell Edenfield of Powder Springs, Ga., and Julie S. and Robert Thompson of Sylvania; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Michael and Yvonne Scott and Ross and Lori Scott, all of Sylvania; Brother and Sister-In-Law: Billy and Anice Scott of Sylvania; 10 Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Thompson-Strickland-Wasters Chapel with Rev. Jerry Sharpe and Wendell Edenfield officiating. Burial was in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers: David Hughes, Glen Hughes, Eddie Hughes, Brian Cail, Danny Cail, Herman Adamson, Tommy Hughes, Charles Scott, Jerry Scott, McCay McBride, Skippy Scott and Russ Scott. Honorary Pallbearers: Black Creek Church Family, members of Iron Workers Local Union 709 and Andy and Michelle Harrison.
