Keep Screven Beautiful’s annual Rivers Alive Sept. 23

Keep Screven Beautiful has signed up for our 11th Annual Rivers Alive and we need your help!
Rivers Alive is a volunteer cleanup that targets waterways in Georgia including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, and wetlands.
The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness and involvement in the preservation of Georgia’s water resources.
Rivers Alive will be on Saturday, Sept. 23; 9 a.m. until noon.
Supplies such as trash bags and gloves will be provided. These supplies will be available at 9 a.m. the morning of Rivers Alive at Brannen’s Bridges. Free T-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 volunteers to arrive (pending receipt of goods).
From Brannen’s Bridges, tour guides will direct you to a cleanup site.
Once you have collected the trash and recycled items, you can drop it off at Brannen’s Bridges.  There will be refreshments such as hotdogs, chips and drinks served at noon. There will be drawings, too!
Everyone is invited to participate including non-profit organizations, corporations, community and civic groups, school groups, faith-based groups, individuals, and governmental agencies. Also, we need for kayakers, boaters, and canoeist to come and help along the river banks in areas that we may not be able to reach.
Sign up your group or club by calling Keep Screven Beautiful at 912-978-1076.
Waivers are required for all volunteers and a guardian signature is necessary for all minors. There will be a sign-up sheet and waivers available at the cleanup site. Those who attended laso year had a great time and the group hopes to see you all again this year.
