Dozens plea, are sentenced to avoid trials

The month of August was filled with individuals who made pleas before Superior Court Judge F. Gates Peed as sentences were rendered.
Gary Antwone Rountree pled guilty on Aug. 7 to burglary-first degree; and criminal damage to property-second degree.
In a separate charge, Rountree pled guilty on the same day to burglary-first degree; criminal damage to property-second degree; and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers-misdemeanor.
For the charges, Rountree was sentenced to 15 years with seven to serve.
Alonza Lorenzo Pierce pled guilty on Aug. 7 to criminal attempt to commit a felony; and possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.
Pierce was sentenced to seven years.
Terry Lamar Jones pled guilty on Aug. 9 to child molestation and sexual battery against child under 16.
Jones was sentenced to 10 years with five to serve and he cannot have contact with the victim.
Shakeya Qwansha Dunbar pled guilty on Aug. 7 to aggravated battery; willful obstruction of law enforcement officers-misdemeanor; fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; unlawful for any person to purchase, possess, or have under his control any controlled substance; reckless driving; and speeding.
Dunbar was sentenced to three years to serve and seven years probation.
Additional pleas and sentencing include Tiffany Michelle Adams who pled guilty on Aug. 7 to unlawful for any person to purchase, possess, or have under his control any controlled substance; and driving under the influence drugs/alcohol. Adams was sentenced to three years probation.
n Larry Badger pled Alford vs. North Carolina on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Badger was sentenced to 10 years probation.
n Shardae Jameazakia Badger pled guilty on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Badger was sentenced to 12 months probation.
n Mary Ruth Carter pled guilty on Aug. 7 to aggravated assault. Carter was sentenced to five years probation.
n Virginia Annette Davis pled guilty on Aug. 7 to receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender. Davis was sentenced to five years probation.
n Jared Scott Hutchinson pled guilty on Aug. 7 to fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense; possession of sawed-off shotgun, sawed-off rifle, machine gun, dangerous weapon, or silencer; criminal use of an article with altered mark (other than motor vehicle); unlawful for any person to purchase, possess, or have under his control any controlled substance; driving under influence drugs/alcohol; and improper equipment. Hutchinson was sentenced to five years probation.
n Lee Lewis Librizzi pled guilty on Aug. 7 to receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender; driving while license suspended or revoked; driving under influence drugs/alcohol; and improper lane change. Librizzi was sentenced to five years probation.
n Adrian Lorenvo Jones pled guilty on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Jones was sentenced to five years to run concurrently with his current sentence.
n Ronnie Benjamin Mingle pled guilty on Aug. 7 to aggravated assault. Mingle was sentenced to five years probation.
n Daniel Edwards Oliver pled guilty on Aug. 7 to terroristic threats and acts; and criminal trespass. Oliver was sentenced to five years and three to serve.
n Christy Allyn Pye pled guilty on Aug. 7 to burglary-second degree; and theft by taking motor vehicle. Pye was sentenced to five years probation.
n Garrett Judson Sello pled guilty on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Sello was sentenced to five years probation.
n Trent Lee Teston pled guilty on Aug. 7 to unlawful for any person to purchase, possess, or have under his control any controlled substance; driving under influence of drugs/alcohol; driving without a license; knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled or revoked registration; and no proof of insurance. Teston was sentenced to three years probation.
n Karen Elizabeth Waters pled guilty on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Waters received a three-year probation sentence.
n Jordan Marques Williams pled guilty on Aug. 7 to arson-first degree. Williams was sentenced to five years probation.
n Raven Williams pled guilty on Aug. 7 to purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana. Williams was sentenced to 12 months probation.
