Offering a Sample of our life & putting on a Show

“One of the best ever” is a comment that was heard repeatedly at the annual Sylvania sampler arts and crafts festival, which was held Saturday for the 29th year in a row. It’s hard to tell just how many people visited the more than 60 booths that were set up on the courthouse grounds, eating food, enjoying music and taking part in the dog show.
But the weather was nice and the crowds were big.
“Several people said it was one of the best-attended Samplers in a long time,” said Kathryn Youles, president of the Junior Woman’s Club. “We seemed to have lots of people there. … We really appreciate everyone showing up.” The chamber sponsored a car and truck show at the same time as the Sampler, next door at the city’s new amphitheater.

Winners of the Sampler’s photo contest were:
* people – first, second and third places, Evelyn Hubbard.
