Ogeechee Road work scheduled

Work is scheduled to begin today to resurface 12.2 miles of Ogeechee Road in Screven County, from Waters Station Road to the bridges at the Bulloch County line.
The work is expected to take about 10 days. Residents may want to take alternate routes if they can. Otherwise, they can expect traffic delays, said Vernon Edenfield, public works director.

Edenfield said a different process is being used on Ogeechee Road than was used on the recent resurfacing of Buttermilk Road, when a number of cars driving through the construction area had cracked windshields and tar stuck to them. “It won’t be anything like Buttermilk Road,” Edenfield said. “It’s a different process,” he said -- one that should not damage vehicles.
